I’ve been jonesing to make banana bread for a while now! It’s one of my favorite sweets as it’s both wholesome and yummy, not to mention pairs very well with a coffee. I’ve found there are two types of banana bread: the classic banana bread and the health nut banana bread. With this recipe I tried to combine good aspects of both to meet in a  little heavenly middle. This recipe is full of love, goodness, and lots of chocolate chips!



  • 3 extra ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup of chocolate chips –feel free to add more (;
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350

  2. Butter a medium sized loaf tin

    • I think using real butter as opposed to PAM etc. to line a pan/tin adds a little somethin’ extra
  3. In a mixer, combine butter, almond butter, eggs, vanilla extract and sugar on high

  4. Add in bananas slowly, mixing until there are no clumps

  5. Add remaining ingredients, saving the chocolate chips for last

  6. Pour batter into buttered tin

  7. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes

  8. Set aside to cool, and enjoy!
